Endangered in Canada, Special Concern in the USA

Yellow-breasted Chat is the largest warbler, offering a cascade of song in the spring, when males deliver streams of whistles, cackles, chuckles, and gurgles with the fluidity of improvisational jazz. Its population is declining in eastern North America due to habitat loss and degradation due to deforestation and urban development.
